OHMYGRAM: Antwerp - The Heart of Fashion

RU: Этот город будто сошел со страниц детской сказки о пряничном домике Шарля Перро. Каждый миллиметр, каждый встречный закоулок хочется если не окунуть в горячий чай, то хотя бы разглядеть поближе.
Разглядеть и насладиться бесхитростной открытостью и великолепием Антверпена, который без ложного пафоса связывает высокую моду и повседневную жизнь воедино. Главное, держать наготове телефон - чтобы потом, листая Instagram, вновь и вновь окунаться в эти моменты прекрасного.

ENG: It feels like this city came down from a page of Charles Perrault children’s fairytale about the gingerbread house. Every millimeter, every passing alley holds a temptation to dip it in a cup of tea or at the very least to look at it closer.
To feast on the sight of easy, open wonderfulness of Antwerp that without the unnecessary showboating combines high fashion and daily life. The only real necessity is to have a phone near-by, so that afterwards, while scrolling on Instagram, I could return to these gorgeous moments of beauty.

Несмотря на октябрь, небо над Антверпеном всегда было стабильно чистым, погода - уютно-весенней, а центральная площадь - любимым местом для повседневных ланчей.

Even though it was October, the sky above Antwerp was always clear, the weather was accommodatingly spring-ish and the central square -  favorite place for daily lunches.

The collections by Anna Heylen began with a doll that she made twenty years ago. This doll is still in her self-titled atelier, just as is every collection – each one with a mesmerizing story of how a hobby becomes a calling.

Коллекции Анны Хейлен берут свое начало с кукол, первая из которых была создана дизайнером 20 лет назад. Эта кукла до сих пор сохранилась в именном ателье, как и все коллекции - в каждой из них кроется завораживающая история о том, как любимое хобби перерождается в призвание.

Each day spent in Antwerp meant a new meeting. With renown designers, with graduates from the legendary Royal Academy of Arts and the representatives of the famous “Antwerp six”, like Walter Van Beirendonck whose collections can be found at the DVS boutique (Schuttershofstraat 9, first floor, 2000).

Каждый из дней, проведенных в Антверпене, ознаменовывал собой новые знакомства. В том числе, со многими маститыми дизайнерами, выпускниками легендарной Королевской Академии и по совместительству представителями "модной антверпенской шестерки". Например, с Вальтером ван Бейрендонком, чьи коллекции можно найти в бутике DVS (Schuttershofstraat 9, first floor, 2000).

It’s no secret that Belgium is famous not only for it's serious attitude towards the world of fashion, but also for the beer variety. To taste even a half of the five hundred sorts of beer, one would need a good half of one’s life as well as a hardened liver. But to be in Antwerp and not to have a taste of my favorite Kriek would have been an absolutely blasphemous decision.

Ни секрет, что Бельгия известна не только серьезным подходом к миру моды, но и разнообразием пива. Чтобы продегустировать хотя бы половину из пятисот представленных сортов, потребовалось бы не только пол жизни, но и закаленная печень. Однако, оказаться в Антверпене и не попробовать мой любимый крик.

Preparing for a photo shoot at Black&Light Studios. Personally, this one felt as the hardest evening of the entire trip. Several hours in the capable hands of a stylist, after – a scrupulous choosing process from the collections of the Antwerp designers and only after that a photo shoot itself. No word about tiredness though, thanks to the team of professionals I haven’t felt it even for a bit. As for the results, you shall see them pretty soon. :)

Подготовка к фотосъемке в Black&Light Studios. По ощущениям, самый трудоемкий вечер за все путешествие. Несколько часов в руках стилиста, затем - тщательный выбор образов из представленных антверпенскими дизайнерами коллекций, а уже после - сам фотосет. Но ни слова про усталость - благодаря команде профессионалов, ее совсем не чувствовалось. А результаты я покажу уже совсем скоро. :)

A special collection for Converse by Maison Martin Margiela conquered my heart in the first minute of picture gazing and I can hardly describe the excitement when I saw them live at the Coccodrillo boutique (Schuttershofstraat 9, 2000). I always knew that Magiela is a true genius and Converse are the most comfortable sneakers in the world, but their collaboration and the concept totally blew my mind.

Специальная коллекция Maison Martin Margiela для Converse покорила меня в первую минуту просмотра фотографий, и вряд ли я смогу словами описать свой восторг, когда увидела ее воочию в бутике Coccodrillo (Schuttershofstraat 9, 2000). Я всегда знала, что Margiela - истинный гений, а Converse - самые удобные кеды на свете, но их совместное сотрудничество и представленная концепция полностью перевернули мой разум.

The weather that reminds of a fairytale demands a likely attitude and it goes so well with my favorite dresses, the would be forgotten ones until spring, once returned to Moscow. Wearing a dress by Miss Candy, cloak by Kira Plastinina, vintage bag from Why Not Shop and boots by Stradivarius.

Погода, напоминающая сказку, требует к себе соответствующего отношения и как нельзя кстати подходит для самых любимых платьев, о которых по возвращению в Москву пришлось бы забыть до весны. На мне платье Miss Candy, плащ Kira Plastinina, винтажная сумка от Why Not Shop и ботинки Stradivarius.

The world’s biggest wardrobe with the dimensions even Carrie Bradshaw would envy is located at Antwerp. In the secret sidelines of the Mode Museum (Nationalestraat 28/1, 2000) every collection by the fashion graduates of Royal Academy of Fine Arts is stored. The clothing gets here straight after it has been showcased and the most sign ones are placed in exhibitions that are updated weekly.

Самая большая гардеробная комната в мире, размерам и размаху которой могла бы позавидовать сама Керри Брэдшоу, располагается именно здесь, в Антверпене. В секретных кулуарах музея Mode (Nationalestraat 28/1, 2000) хранятся абсолютно все подиумные коллекции выпускников факультета моды Королевской академии изящных искусств. Вещи попадают сюда сразу же после показов, а самые знаковые занимают место в экспозициях, обновляемых каждую неделю.

After meeting Minju Kim and exploring her capsule line for H&M, I understood straight away what shades and textures would be the central objects of the photo shoot. Besides that, it was the only chance to try on the clothing by the honorable winner of H&M Design Award 2013, since this collaboration never made it to Russia.

Познакомившись с Минжу Ким и изучив ее капсульную коллекцию для H&M, мне сразу стало понятно, какие оттенки и текстуры станут центральными объектами съемки. Кроме того, это был практически единственный шанс примерить на себя вещи от почетного призера H&M Design Award 2013 - в Россию эта коллаборация так и не доехала.
